About

This blog has it’s origins in an idea of Giles Turnbull‘s that was shared online in December 2011 Giles had been taking twitter off-line during 2011.

I decided to try and send more postcards in 2012 and shared them with a number of tweeps, and some family members who weren’t on twitter. Then at the end of 2013 I noticed that there were beautiful postcards for sale here. These new postcards have a conscience too, they’re being sold to raise money for legal representation at Connor Sparrowhawk’s inquest. Connor was just 18, at the start of his adult life, when he died on July 4th this year. Connor was taking a bath in an NHS treatment and assessment unit, as someone with epilepsy and learning disabilities, and never should have been left alone. His mum, Sara, has been blogging about life with Connor (LB: Laughing Boy) for a number of years, if you’d like to know more, grab a coffee, some tissues and prepare to read it and weep.

However I’d vowed not to buy more postcards until I’d shifted what I had….so twitter postcards was born, and I started collecting addresses from people on twitter to randomly send a postcard to. If you’d like a postcard then all you need to do is email me here and I’ll send you one. This blog is a photographic record of the postcards I’ve sent, to help make parting with them a little easier…I’m sure half the reason I save them is because I like them so much myself!!

ps In case you’re wondering who is behind this site. My twitter tag is @georgejulian and you can read more of my inane ramblings over on my personal blog and a bit about me here.
